Kapalua Bay Course

Since the Kapalua Bay Course first opened in 1975, it has played host to more than 20 PGA, LPGA, and other professional golf tournaments, the most of any other course in the islands. This classic Hawaiian course saw historic victories from noted champions like Greg Norman’s first American win, David Llwellyn and Ian Woosnam’s Welsh victory in the World Cup of Golf, and Morgan Pressel’s famous win at the Kapalua LPGA classic. The course was also the site of the first live televised golf event, the 1983 Kapalua International. Designed by Arnold Palmer and Francis Duane, the Kapalua Bay Course offers 6,600 yardage of golfable terrain.

Hole over the Ocean

The Bay Course’s 5th hole is the only golf hole on the Island of Maui that allows you to play over the ocean. Be sure to bring a camera so that you can take advantage of this rare hole design and the stunning ocean view. If you’re lucky, you may even catch some whales breaching in the distance.

Plantation Course

Golf Digest christened the Kapalua Plantation Course the #1 public golf course in Hawaii for good reason. Designed by Ben Crenshaw and Bill Coore, this 18 hole, 7,411 yar, par 73 mixes breathtaking ocean vistas, cloud capped mountains, and verdant green fairways with challenging holes to create one of the best golf experiences in the world. The Plantation Course is home to the PGA TOUR Hyundai Tournament of Champions, which kicks off the golf season every January. From Davis Love III to Tiger Woods, many a champion has graced the majestic greens of this world class course.

Downhill 663 Yard Par 5

Sharp changes in elevation and aggressive slopes create the downhill tee shots that make this course so much fun. The Plantation Course’s 18th hole reigns supreme as a challenging left leaning downhill 663 yard par 5. If you’re up for the challenge, attempt to shoot like a champion by aiming your drive towards the clubhouse in an attempt to catch the slope and roll out 300 yards. This will give you the opportunity to land the hole with a two under par eagle putt.
